December 6th Candlelight Vigil

Picture from a vigil yesterday in Montreal marking the 20th anniversary of the École Polytechnique massacre. On December 6, 1989, a young man named Mark Lépine entered the school and started shooting young women in what he called a "fight against feminism". Lépine killed fourteen women, injured ten others and four men, before killing himself. It is safe to say that the massacre devastated Canadians and is marked each year with a National Day of Action and Remembrance on Violence Against Women.
